Garden 6 & Gardeners' Market

8 Hillside Road - Gerda Gorgner and Kim Whitaker

Our garden is ever-evolving and never finished. The garden feeds us, our chickens and our bees. We have over 40 fruit trees, raised vegetable beds and an eclectic mix of flowers to keep us busy all year round. Long term commitment to composting and the help of our chickens has created much-improved soil conditions. We try to recycle as much as possible, sheds and fences have all been made from salvaged materials. The garden has come together with kind contributions from friends who give cuttings and have raised plants for us. We invite you to relax and sit down for a cuppa and something sweet to eat in the different areas of our garden. You might see some of our regular visitors such as Tuis, Kakas, Piwakawaka and Kereru.

Gardeners’ Market

With the help of some very creative friends, and with an eye to recycling, we will also host a Gardeners’ Market. Items for sale will include: ceramic plant labels, insect houses, garden ornaments, recycled garden tools, preloved garden books, succulents – you can even get a fix for your garden from our ‘Worm Juice Bar’. All proceeds from the sale go to the Jassy Dean Trust!
