Waiheke Garden Safari has been delighting Island residents and visitors alike since 2001 and since 2017 we have a new format. The new name is Waiheke Garden Festival to reflect this change. It is still a must-see, self-drive or cycle event for gardeners and island visitors with gardening workshops in the gardens this year. Waiheke Garden Festival takes place over two days 10 & 11 November 2018. Our gardens are open 10 am to 4 pm both days. We are sponsored by Fullers who also offer tour packages for the Festival. Ticket buyers get exclusive access to some of Waiheke Island's most interesting gardens while also supporting the Jassy Dean Trust. The Trust has been supporting Waiheke families with sick children for the last 25 years. Find out more about the Jassy Dean Trust here.
Dogs are not allowed in these private gardens. Please leave your dogs safely at home.
When you arrive at your first garden, your Fullers paper ticket will be exchanged for a wristband. Wear wristband comfortably snug on your wrist at the first garden you visit.
For your safety, please wear appropriate footwear to avoid slips and falls.
The owners have generously donated their gardens for you to view. Please respect their privacy and property.
Children are welcome in the gardens, however pushchairs are not recommended.
Food and drink are offered in several gardens and vendors donate to the Jassy Dean Trust.
While it’s still a self drive event, Fullers, our major sponsor, has put together some great transport options for bus tours and transfers. E-cycling and scooting are a great way to get around Waiheke without having to worry about parking. Parking at some locations is limited so carpooling is a great idea.
Book a Fullers Garden Festival one-day tour (available Saturday and Sunday) to make it easy to see each garden, local artists, local artisan food and the Sundowner garden. Lunch is included.
Visit fullers.co.nz to book. 9 November UPDATE: Bus packages are now sold out, regular admission still available.
Wheelbarrow of Goodies
Buy a Raffle ticket at any garden you visit for 1 for $5, 3 for $10 and win a wheelbarrow of goodies. All donated by Placemakers Garden Centre.
Saturday 10 November 4pm to Sunset
Wharetana Bay Homestead, 15 Rothschild Terrace
Music: Dave Alley, Deep House Brothers, Nikki Ngatai & Aaron Carpenter
Sundowner Entry is free for Festival ticket holders or $15.00 at the gate. Children under 16 are free. Cash accepted and Eftpos available. Limited parking, carpooling recommended.
Sponsored by Kennedy Point Vineyard
A great way to relax after a day in the gardens, watch the sun setting over the Gulf and the City while enjoying a drink and a bite to eat at our Sundowner Garden on Saturday evening. Wander the garden while you enjoy local wines provided by Kennedy Point Vineyard and beer, some lovely gourmet food and tunes while taking in the sunset. Food trucks and licensed bar on site.
