There are three main sections to my garden where paths take you into, under, and around the house. Just one year ago the flower garden was just lawn and weeds. With the encouragement and help of my wonderful friend Kay, my dream became a reality filled with all the things I love - herbs, roses, hydrangeas, dahlias, gardenia and magnolias. The bromeliad garden is to the left of the house. This was my first attempt at creating a garden. It is a very shady area so perfect for bromeliads, clivia and lantern trees all of which come from the Jassy Dean nursery or were dug out of friends’ gardens. The lower garden is still very much a work in progress. It’s steep and prone to wash out so I am experimenting in this area. Currently it has lots of different things including roses and citrus.
