8 Shelly Beach Road - Simon and Mary Wright

When we first came upon the overgrown but flat section with an assortment of derelict buildings in Shelly Beach Road overlooking the achingly beautiful Putiki Bay, we fell in love with it. Now more than 11 years on, it is a very beautiful and also productive garden. We have 32 species of fruit and berry plants with a year round bountiful vege garden. We are striving to create beauty for all the senses to enjoy. We have birdsong, bubbling water lapping waves, perfume of Stephanotis, snail vine and sweet pea. We are blessed to be the guardians of this wee plot and are delighted for it to become a place in which people can linger and enjoy the bounty of nature.
