What an unforgettable weekend! The weather held up perfectly, letting the gardens show off in all their stunning glory….and a few light showers at the end didn’t spoil anyone’s fun. Big love to everyone who attended this year’s Jassy Dean Trust Waiheke Garden Festival! We hope the event brought you joy, sparked inspiration, and left you smiling!

The Waiheke Garden Festival is a vital fundraiser for some of our most vulnerable community members - children with health needs. It is with your participation and support we can continue to provide the care these children and their families need.

The Jassy Dean Trust is deeply grateful to everyone in our community who helped make this year’s Waiheke Garden Festival a success. Thanks to our amazing 150 volunteers, garden hosts, festival sponsors (in particular our major sponsors, Fullers360 and eRide Waiheke), artists, musicians, craft stall holders, Ngaio and her plant nursery and the multitude of local businesses, groups and individuals who made this event possible. Garden 1

14 Tawa Street, Oneroa
Ten years ago, this ½ acre garden presented its new owners with little more than a steep slope, an olive tree, a few fruit trees, a lot of punga and a view over magical Little Oneroa Bay. Robin and Graham set about developing the property by introducing garden-lined paths.

Garden 2

8 Shelley Beach Road, Surfdale
This beautiful and productive seaside garden is overflowing with glorious flowers, fruit trees, berry plants and a bountiful vege garden. Mary and Simon purchased the flat section overlooking beautiful Putaki Bay fourteen years ago and have created a tranquil haven full of birdsong and fragrant plants.

119 Wilma Road, Ostend
The property comprises 10 acres of vineyard, native bush and paddock with the acre around the house devoted to garden… a ‘work in progress’ which has been going on for 20 years. As Poppy and Jason established the garden, they were keen to create separate spaces for different uses.

45 Albert Crescent, Putiki Bay
Rachel has been a passionate gardener for as long as she can remember, and Richard is a professional horticulturist and landscaper. Their combined talents are obvious in this outstanding garden.

200 Te Whau Drive, Te Whau
The owners of this seven-acre property completed the building of their home in 2018 and immediately set about developing the garden…from scratch. Over 6 years they have transformed a ‘post-build’ raw and scarred clay landscape into well-established gardens that feel as if they have always been there.

16 Scotts Terrace, Onetangi
This stunning garden is linked from the roadside entrance to the regenerating Forest & Bird Reserve below, through a series of cascading paths, garden beds and terraces. The Immaculate hard landscaping is largely the handiwork of Margie and her husband John.

375 Waiheke Road, Onetangi
Large sections of regenerated forest share space with spectacular rural views, border gardens, broad lawns and twisted flower-edged paths in a garden full of colour and variety.

Garden 8

34 Man O War Bay Road
Situated in a valley ten minutes from Onetangi. Surrounded by farmland, this garden has been a labour of love for nearly twenty years…transformed from paddock to park.

Garden 9

57-59 Cory Road, Palm Beach
Alison and Paul have owned this 9.5-acre property for over 12 years. The heart of the garden and the owners’ abiding passion is the impressive regeneration of the native forest that tumbles down to Palm Beach.

5A Coromandel Road, Oneroa
Sacred Blessing Sanctuary Garden is enjoyed by visitors from New Zealand and around the world. Set across two acres, this manicured garden features a large diversity of plant species with flowers and colour at the forefront of the garden team’s design.

Ngaio’s Plant Sale

403 Seaview Road, Onetangi
Saturday – Sunday 9am – 1pm
Since our first garden festival over twenty years ago, Ngaio has been propagating and selling plants from her home in Onetangi. All proceeds go to the Jassy Dean Trust and over the years she has made a tremendous contribution to our fundraising efforts.

Art Stop

Studio 309, 309 Seaview Road
Open from 9 – 4 pm Saturday & Sunday
Come and enjoy some local art with a stunning view! Be sure to stop in at Studio 309 in between garden visits and discover a diverse range of sculptural art, paintings and ceramics for sale with a generous portion of proceeds benefiting the Jassy Dean Trust.

WAIHEKE GARDEN FESTIVAL BENEFITS THE JASSY DEAN TRUST

Waiheke Garden Festival is the primary fundraiser for the Jassy Dean Trust, an organisation that supports sick children and their families on Waiheke Island. 100% of the proceeds from the Festival go to the Trust. For more information about the Jassy Dean Trust click here.
