Mudbrick Vineyard 126 Church Bay Road
The Mudbrick Gardens have been a labour of love for 28 years and counting. There have been many experiments that have both worked and failed along the years at Mudbrick. We try to recycle as much as possible and turn pallets or old timber into fences or other garden structures.

We wanted no lawn, low maintenance plants, vege gardens, plants to attract birds, bees and butterflies. Our planting is a mixture of natives, cuttings from previous gardens, palms and a colourful eclectic mix of whatever takes out fancy.

What was a weed-infested steep hillside is developing into a uniquely Waiheke garden that takes its inspiration from the surrounding landscape, and combines bold simple lines and complex planting. Sweeping beds of shrubs, perennials, grasses and roses surround a contemporary house.
